Nippon Steel and Sumitomo sign 10-year OCTG supply agreement with Shell

Nippon Steel Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation have signed a 10-year framework agreement with Shell Global Solutions International B.V. for the global supply of oil country tubular goods (OCTG).

The two Japanese companies have supplied seamless OCTG products to Shell for over five decades, serving operations in more than 20 countries. The new agreement builds on this long-standing partnership and recognizes Nippon Steel’s track record in delivering high-quality premium OCTG, together with Sumitomo’s strong supply chain capabilities, including inventory management, maintenance, and just-in-time delivery.

The agreement reinforces the parties’ commitment to a secure and reliable OCTG supply for Shell’s global operations. Over the next decade, the partnership aims to enhance value by broadening the product portfolio, improving supply chain efficiency, and leveraging digital technologies for greater traceability and transparency.
