QatarEnergy has awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the onshore LNG plant of its North Field West (NFW) project, the final phase of the world’s largest LNG expansion programme.
The EPC contract was awarded to a joint venture comprising Technip Energies, Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) and Gulf Asia Contracting.
The scope of work includes the construction of two LNG mega-trains with a combined capacity of 16 mln tons per year, along with associated facilities for gas treatment, natural gas liquids recovery and helium extraction.
Once completed, the NFW project will lift Qatar’s total LNG production capacity to 142 mln tons per annum, marking the final stage of the country’s multi-year expansion strategy.
