Turkey’s scrap import prices held steady this week as Turkish steel mills booked several cargoes to replenish inventory. Scrap import prices were assessed at USD 360-365 per ton CFR.
In the finished steel segment, demand for Turkish long steel improved, with several Turkish mills reportedly securing sales in both international and domestic markets. While Turkish long steel prices remained unchanged this week, steel mills are now less willing to offer discounts compared to previous weeks due to improved sales. However, the sustainability of this positive momentum remains uncertain and will likely become clearer following China’s week-long holiday in early October.
Turkish rebar export prices are currently in the range of USD 590-600 per ton FOB, and wire rod export prices are around USD 605-615 per ton FOB, both unchanged from last week’s offers
