Turkey imported about 13.9 mln tons of ferrous scrap in January-September 2025, down nearly 7pct year on year, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The United States remained the largest supplier with 2.7 mln tons, followed by the Netherlands at 2.1 mln tons and the United Kingdom at 1.6 mln tons.
In September 2025, imports rose 18pct year on year to 1.7 mln tons, up more than 21pct from August, reflecting a rebound in purchasing activity.
