Turkey imported around 17 mln tons of ferrous scrap in the January-November 2025 period, down nearly 6.7pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The United States remained Turkey’s largest scrap supplier, shipping 3.2 mln tons, followed by the Netherlands with 2.4 mln tons and the United Kingdom at 1.95 mln tons.
In November 2025, Turkey’s scrap imports slipped nearly 1pct YoY to 1.74 mln tons but rose sharply by 35pct compared with the previous month.
