SSAB has entered a new partnership with EAB to supply fossil-free steel, including SSAB Zero, for use across EAB’s core business segments, warehouse fittings, doors, and steel buildings.
EAB has already incorporated SSAB Zero into the machine chassis of its flagship Radioshuttle system, a storage automation solution widely used globally to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Headquartered in Smalandsstenar, Sweden, EAB designs and manufactures long-life, high-quality storage and building solutions and aims to halve its carbon emissions within ten years. The company has already taken steps toward this goal through solar power investments, greener transport, and the adoption of climate-improved steel.
SSAB is working to decarbonize steelmaking and build fossil-free value chains with its customers.
SSAB Zero is produced from recycled steel using fossil-free energy, offering identical quality to conventional grades. SSAB’s fossil-free steel, made using hydrogen-based HYBRIT technology, eliminates CO2 emissions from the ironmaking process and is currently being delivered in pilot volumes to select customers. The next step is scaling up commercial production.
