Tata Steel reported its best-ever quarterly performance in India during the third quarter of FY26, driven by higher output, strong domestic demand, and growing contributions from value-added and downstream segments.
In Q3 FY26, Tata Steel India’s crude steel production reached a record 6.34 mln tons, up 12pct QoQ and YoY, supported mainly by improved operations at the Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar plants. For the first nine months of FY26, crude steel production increased 6pct YoY to around 17.2 mln tons.
Higher production translated into record deliveries, with Tata Steel India crossing the 6 mln ton quarterly milestone for the first time. Deliveries rose 9pct QoQ and 14pct YoY, led by strong domestic sales. On a nine-month basis, deliveries stood at approximately 16.3 mln tons, up 6pct YoY.
Outside India, Tata Steel Netherlands reported liquid steel production of 1.68 mln tons in Q3 FY26, down 4.55pct YoY, with deliveries also decreased 8.5pct YoY to 1.40 mln tons, impacted by seasonal factors and weak market conditions.
Tata Steel UK supplied 0.52 mln tons through downstream processing of purchased substrate, while preparatory works for its electric arc furnace project progressed.
In Thailand, the company’s steel production reached 0.31 mln tons and deliveries totaled 0.29 mln tons, with deliveries up 5pct YoY on the back of strong domestic rebar demand.
Tata Steel is among the world’s leading steel producers, with annual crude steel capacity of around 35 mln tons.
