Brazil’s trade regulator Camara de Comercio Exterior (Gecex) has approved definitive antidumping duties on imports of cold-rolled and steel products from China, effective for up to five years from 18 February 2026.
According to the official notice, duties ranging from USD 322.93 per ton to USD 670.02 per ton were imposed on Chinese cold-rolled flat steel, with rates varying by producer.
The cold-rolled products subject to the measure include flat-rolled carbon steel, alloyed or unalloyed, in sheet or coil form, classified under NCM codes 7209.15.00, 7209.16.00, 7209.17.00, 7209.18.00, 7209.25.00, 7209.26.00, 7209.27.00, 7209.28.00, 7209.90.00, 7211.23.00, 7211.29.10, 7211.29.20, 7225.19.00, 7225.50.90, 7226.19.00 and 7226.92.00.
In a separate decision, Gecex also imposed definitive antidumping duties on coated flat steel imports from China, with duty rates ranging from USD 284.98 per ton to USD 709.63 per ton, depending on the exporter.
The coated steel measure covers galvanized and other coated flat steel products in coil and non-coil form, classified under NCM codes 7210.30.10, 7210.30.90, 7210.49.10, 7210.49.90, 7210.61.00, 7210.69.11, 7210.69.19, 7210.69.90, 7212.20.10, 7212.20.90, 7212.30.00, 7225.91.00, 7225.92.00, 7225.99.90 and 7226.99.00.
Both measures follow investigations that concluded Chinese-origin products were exported to Brazil at dumped prices, causing injury to the domestic steel industry. The duties will remain in force for up to five years unless revised following a review.
