Vallourec wins OCTG supply contract for Shell’s Orca offshore project

Vallourec has secured a major contract with Shell to supply OCTG products and services for Shell’s offshore Orca project, formerly known as Gato do Mato.

The agreement covers the supply of 12,000-15,000 tons of pipes for an initial drilling programme of 10 wells, with drilling currently planned to start in April 2027. Vallourec will deliver a full OCTG scope, including seamless pipes and VAM premium connections, ranging from 4.5 inches to 18 inches, in both carbon and stainless steel grades, along with associated accessories.

In addition to tubular products, Vallourec will provide a suite of value-added onshore and offshore services, including engineering support, material coordination, rig preparation, offshore supervision and rig return repairs, aimed at supporting Shell’s operational efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
