Jingjiang Yongjin Metal Technology has issued the final acceptance certificate (FAC) to Primetals Technologies following the successful delivery and installation of a full Level 1 and Level 2 automation system at its 20-high reversing cold mill No. 3 in Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province. The company said the system has demonstrated high availability, strong performance, and dependable spare-parts support.
The project scope included Level 1 and Level 2 automation, a complete drives package featuring the HD33 medium-voltage drive, excitation systems, drive-PLC control, and associated automation instruments.
Supplied in partnership with Inovance, the new medium-voltage drives offer enhanced mill performance and production reliability. Their modular design helped lower investment costs, while standardized components shortened installation and commissioning time, enabling a fast ramp-up to full operation.
This marks the first collaboration between Primetals Technologies and Inovance, combining Inovance’s drive-technology capabilities with Primetals’ process expertise to deliver precise speed control, stable acceleration and deceleration, and accurate tension management. The result is improved thickness and flatness tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.
