Turkey’s crude steel production reached 38.1 mln tons in 2025, up 3.3pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD).
Billet production increased 6.1pct to 24.2 mln tons, while slab output edged 1.2pct lower to 13.9 mln tons over the full year. Electric arc furnaces accounted for 72.2pct of total crude steel output in 2025, with the remaining 27.8pct produced via blast furnaces.
In December 2025, Turkey’s crude steel production rose 18.5pct YoY to 3.5 mln tons. Billet output increased 16.5pct to 2.2 mln tons, while slab production climbed 22.1pct to 1.3 mln tons during the month.
