Turkey’s crude steel production increased by 4.7pct YoY to 6.41 mln tons in the first two months of 2026, according to data from the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD).
Billet output edged down by 0.1pct to 3.86 mln tons, while slab production rose by nearly 13pct to 2.54 mln tons.
During the period, electric arc furnaces (EAFs) accounted for 72.2pct of total production, while blast furnaces contributed 27.8pct.
In February alone, crude steel output rose by 3.4pct YoY to 3.02 mln tons. Billet production declined by 4.9pct to 1.8 mln tons, while slab output increased by 18.5pct to 1.2 mln tons.
