Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has started production of high-strength rebar grades with guaranteed resistance to stress corrosion cracking, including A500SCK/A500SNK and A600SCK/A600SNK.
The company has also developed a range of high-ductility and corrosion-resistant rebar grades across A500 and A600 classes, produced in coils (8-12 mm) and bars (12-32 mm).
The new products are designed for use in precast and monolithic reinforced concrete structures, offering improved strength and ductility. They are suitable for demanding applications such as infrastructure, power plants and construction in seismic zones.
MMK said independent testing has confirmed compliance with enhanced technical requirements, including resistance to stress corrosion cracking. In addition, the company has introduced A600-grade rebar with higher mechanical performance, which can replace A500-grade material and help reduce steel consumption in reinforced concrete structures.
