Turkey imported 3.1 mln tons of ferrous scrap in the first two months of 2026, up 3.3pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The United States remained the largest supplier, shipping 736,000 tons during the period, followed by the Netherlands with 459,400 tons and the United Kingdom with 284,000 tons.
In February alone, scrap imports totaled 1.4 mln tons, down 9.7pct YoY and 17.7pct compared to the previous month.
