Tenaris is advancing a digitalization and automation upgrade at its welded pipe manufacturing facility in Hickman, Arkansas, aimed at enhancing efficiency, traceability and process control.
The USD 11.7 million project includes the implementation of advanced automation systems and the company’s New Manufacturing System (NMS), with upgrades covering most stages of the production process.
The investment will introduce enhanced process controls, improved yard traceability and fully automated pipe handling supported by real-time, pipe-by-pipe tracking.
The upgrade will be executed in phases over a two-year period. Once completed, the improvements are expected to strengthen quality control and integrate the Hickman facility more closely into Tenaris’s global digital network, supporting its supply to the US energy market.
Tenaris is a global manufacturer of steel pipes and related services for the energy industry, supplying tubular products and technical solutions for oil and gas drilling, production and industrial applications.
