Egypt’s Ezz Steel has submitted a detailed proposal to establish a direct reduced iron (DRI) production project in Algeria, aiming to expand its regional footprint in the steel industry.
The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) received a delegation from Ezz Steel in Algiers to explore investment opportunities in the sector, according to an official statement.
During the meeting, Ezz Steel presented plans for a DRI facility, with potential expansion into an integrated steel complex covering multiple stages of production.
AAPI outlined Algeria’s investment framework, including regulatory conditions, incentives, support mechanisms and the availability of industrial land tailored to project requirements.
