JSW Steel Coated Products Limited has awarded a contract to John Cockerill India Limited for the design, engineering and supply of a continuous galvanizing line (CGL#3) at its Khopoli plant, according to a stock exchange filing.
The contract, valued at approximately INR 300 crore (USD 32 mln), covers design, manufacturing, supply, supervision of erection and commissioning of the new line and associated equipment. The project is scheduled for completion by May 2028.
JSW Steel Coated Products, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Steel Limited, operates the Khopoli facility in Maharashtra, producing galvanized, galvalume and colour-coated steel. The Khopoli and Bawal plants together have around 1.2 mln tons per year of downstream capacity.
JSW Steel’s consolidated crude steel capacity stands at 35.9 mln tons per year, including 1.5 mln tons in the US, with plans to expand to 43.4 mln tons over the next three years.
