Erdemir signs steel supply deal for Ankara pipeline project

Turkish steel producer Erdemir, a subsidiary of Oyak Mining and Metallurgy, has signed a contract with YDA Group, a Turkish conglomerate active in construction, healthcare PPPs, aviation and energy, to supply steel for a 132-km pipeline project linking Ankara with the Kesikkopru Dam, the company said.

Under the agreement, Erdemir will provide steel for key components of the project, including the water intake structure, main transmission line, pumping stations and storage facilities, to be developed by the Ankara Water and Sewerage Administration (ASKI).

The project aims to strengthen water supply infrastructure in the region and support efficient water resource management.

Erdemir said the agreement also reflects broader strategic cooperation with YDA Group, focusing on the use of high value-added steel products in infrastructure applications.

Erdemir’s main products include billet, slab, wire rod, hot rolled, cold rolled and coated steel.
