MISA to build flat-rolled steel processing plant in Arkansas

Marubeni-Itochu Steel America Inc. (MISA) plans to invest more than USD 37 mln to build a flat-rolled steel processing facility in Osceola, Arkansas.

The plant will be located adjacent to Big River Steel and will enhance regional capacity to process high-quality steel, serving sectors including automotive across the south-central United States.

The facility will be operated by MISA Specialty Processing (MSP), a subsidiary of MISA, and will expand the company’s existing processing network in North America.

The investment forms part of MISA’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the US steel market and expand its processing footprint.

MISA and its subsidiaries operate a group of steel supply and processing businesses focused primarily on North America. The company is a subsidiary of Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc., a joint venture between Itochu Corporation and Marubeni Corporation.
