India-based Jindal SAW Ltd. said its board has approved a proposal to establish an additional longitudinal submerged arc welded (LSAW) pipe facility in Saudi Arabia through its joint venture.
The expansion will be undertaken via Jindal SAW & Buhur Altavision Co., a joint venture with Buhur Investment Company, to cater to growing demand for steel pipes in the Kingdom.
The approval builds on earlier plans to develop a helically spiral welded (HSAW) pipe plant in Sudair Industrial City. The facility is designed with an annual production capacity of 350,000 tons, targeting demand from water, oil and gas sectors.
The project is being developed on a 540,000 sq m site under an agreement with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (Modon).
Established in 2020, Buhur Investment Company is a Riyadh-based firm focused on large-scale utility and infrastructure projects and is affiliated with the Mutlaq Al-Ghowairi Contracting Company (MGC).
Headquartered in New Delhi, Jindal SAW operates manufacturing facilities across India, the US, Europe, and the UAE, producing SAW and spiral pipes for energy transport, seamless and alloy pipes for industrial applications, and ductile iron pipes for water and wastewater projects.
