Galperti Special Alloys S.p.A., a newly established company within the Galperti Group, has awarded a contract to Danieli for the engineering and supply of vacuum induction melting (VIM) and electro-slag remelting (ESR) furnaces to be installed in Italy.
The project includes an 8-ton VIM furnace and a 10-ton ESR unit, aimed at supporting the production of high-quality specialty and heat-resistant steel grades. The VIM furnace will enable controlled melting under vacuum conditions, while the ESR unit will enhance material quality through improved cleanliness, homogeneity and inclusion control.
Danieli’s scope covers engineering, manufacturing, pre-assembly and testing, along with installation support and commissioning. Startup of the equipment is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
The investment marks an expansion of the Galperti Group’s capabilities into upstream melting and remelting technologies, complementing its existing expertise in forging and advanced components for critical applications.
