EMSTEEL signs strategic agreements at Make it in the Emirates 2026

EMSTEEL, one of the region’s major steel and building materials producers, announced several agreements focused on decarbonization, digitalization, logistics, and industrial development during Make it in the Emirates 2026.

During the event, EMSTEEL signed a MoU with Gulf Cryo to develop an integrated carbon business model across its operations. The agreement covers carbon capture at source alongside downstream carbon utilization, conversion, and storage solutions, aimed at creating an integrated value chain from emissions to end-use applications. The initiative is also intended to support EMSTEEL’s alignment with evolving global carbon regulations and taxonomies.

The company also partnered with Zealogics to deploy AI-powered platforms for real-time monitoring, defect prediction, and process optimization, supporting EMSTEEL’s smart manufacturing initiatives. The cooperation also includes AI-driven energy optimization and low-carbon steel digitalization, including digital twin technologies across production processes.

In addition, EMSTEEL signed an agreement with Micropolis to introduce autonomous zero-emission transport platforms across its operations, aimed at replacing diesel-powered vehicles and improving operational efficiency and sustainability.

EMSTEEL also signed a non-binding MoU with AD Ports Group to explore integrated logistics and intermodal transport solutions, including rail-linked inland logistics, port connectivity, and supply chain optimization. Both parties additionally agreed to establish the UAE’s first Shipbuilders Consortium, aimed at supporting domestic shipbuilding capabilities and marine-grade steel supply.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, EMSTEEL has an annual production capacity of 3.5 mln tons of steel and 4.6 mln tons of cement. Its steel segment, Emirates Steel, produces wire rod, rebar, heavy sections and sheet piles.
