PT Garuda Yamato Steel (GYS) awarded Danieli a contract to modernize the water-treatment plant serving its steel production facilities in Indonesia.
According to Danieli, the upgraded water-treatment plant will operate as the main cooling infrastructure for the steelworks, supporting production processes and improving water management reliability.
The system has been designed for installation within the existing plant layout in a brownfield environment, allowing integration with limited modifications to current infrastructure. Danieli stated that the approach will reduce investment costs and shorten implementation time by avoiding major demolition and civil works.
The project will also maximize the reuse of existing infrastructure, including piping supports, electrical systems, cable-routing networks, and overhead cranes.
The supply scope includes engineering, project management, mechanical equipment, automation systems, and customized design solutions compliant with international standards. Danieli will also provide technical support during engineering, commissioning, and final acceptance of the system.
According to the companies, the modernization project is aimed at improving operational reliability, resource efficiency, and environmentally responsible steel production.
