Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH, a subsidiary of Salzgitter AG, obtained additional certifications for its SECURE protection steel grades for military applications, expanding its approved product range for the defence sector.
According to the company, the newly certified steel grades comply with the German Bundeswehr’s technical delivery requirements for military use.
The approvals include SECURE 400 in thicknesses ranging from 6-45 mm, SECURE 450 from 6-30 mm, SECURE 500 from 6-40 mm, and SECURE 600 from 6-22 mm.
The company stated that the expanded certification scope allows it to cover around 80-90pct of the steel requirements for military vehicles. Previously, only limited thickness ranges of SECURE 450 and SECURE 500 had been approved.
Ilsenburger Grobblech said the expanded approvals strengthen its position in the European defence steel market and support broader applications of its security steel portfolio.
The company added that additional steel grades, including SECURE 300 and SECURE 350, remain under the approval process for specialized applications.
