Nikel Paslanmaz to invest USD 154 mln in stainless steel expansion

Turkish stainless steel service center Nikel Paslanmaz announced plans to invest around USD 154 mln in new projects as the company targets 30pct growth in 2026 despite challenging market conditions, according to the local media reports.

The company, one of Turkey’s largest stainless steel service centers and exporters, reported consolidated turnover of around USD 200 mln in 2025, including exports worth USD 70 mln.

Nikel Paslanmaz Board Member Kemal Yalgin said the company expects part of its targeted growth to come from rising stainless steel demand linked to reconstruction activities in the Gulf region.

As part of its expansion strategy, the company plans to establish an integrated stainless steel bar production facility in Ferizli, Sakarya with an investment of around USD 100 mln.

In addition, Nikel Paslanmaz will invest around USD 50 mln in a flat stainless steel cold rolling mill in Dilovasi with annual capacity of 40,000-50,000 tons, scheduled to commence operations by the end of 2027.

The company also plans to establish a stainless steel service center in Manchester/Burnley in the UK with annual capacity of 50,000 tons through an investment of around USD 4 mln.

Yalgin stated that Turkey currently consumes around 700,000 tons of stainless steel annually and noted that establishing an integrated stainless steel plant in the country could become economically viable if domestic consumption reaches 1 mln tons per year.
