U.S.-based steel producer Cleveland-Cliffs has entered a three-year strategic partnership with Palantir Technologies to deploy artificial intelligence (AI)-driven solutions across its operations and commercial processes.
Under the agreement, Cleveland-Cliffs will integrate Palantir’s AI platform into production planning, order management, and operational workflows aimed at improving data integration, operational coordination, and real-time decision-making across its manufacturing network.
The company stated that the partnership forms part of its broader strategy to modernize operations and improve productivity through advanced digital technologies.
Cleveland-Cliffs said initial pilot projects with Palantir demonstrated significant operational benefits, particularly in managing the complexity of integrated steelmaking operations.
Cleveland-Cliffs is one of North America’s leading steel producers with operations spanning iron ore mining, pellet production, direct reduced iron, steelmaking, and downstream steel processing, primarily focused on flat steel products for the automotive sector.
