Ramsarup Industries Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Shyam Metallics & Energy Ltd., has selected Danieli to supply a new Special Bar Quality (SBQ) combination mill for its Kharagpur Works facility in West Bengal, India.
The new mill, based on Danieli Morgardshammar SBQ technology, will have annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of finished long steel products.
The facility will produce special steel smooth and deformed rounds in coil form in sizes ranging from 5.5 mm to 25 mm at rolling speeds of up to 110 meters per second, as well as bar-in-coil products from 16 mm to 45 mm.
In addition, the mill will manufacture commercial grade bars in straight lengths from 8 mm to 40 mm diameter at speeds of up to 45 meters per second.
Danieli stated that the plant will be equipped with advanced automation and process control systems aimed at improving operational efficiency and product quality.
The supply scope includes engineering, technological equipment, and advisory services, while plant startup is scheduled for early 2027.
Ramsarup Industries Ltd. (RIL), acquired by Shyam Metalics & Energy in 2022, manufactures rebars, wire rods, railway wagons, and special bar quality (SBQ) long steel products.
