Ferrometalco has signed an investment agreement with the Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZAD) to establish a steel fabrication and engineering facility in Oman, marking a significant step in the company’s regional expansion plans.
The project will be developed on a 39,000-square-meter site in Duqm and will manufacture structural steel, pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems and precision-engineered components for the power, renewable energy, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors.
According to the company, the facility is expected to serve customers across Oman, the GCC and East Africa, strengthening Duqm’s position as a regional industrial and logistics hub.
Ferrometalco said the investment supports Oman’s Vision 2040 objectives by promoting industrial development, expanding local manufacturing capabilities and creating employment opportunities.
The company added that Duqm’s strategic location, infrastructure and business-friendly environment were key factors behind its decision to establish the new manufacturing facility in the special economic zone.
