Turkish steel producer Kardemir has lowered domestic wire rod prices amid continued pressure on long steel markets.
According to the company’s latest price list, 5.5 mm SAE 1006 grade wire rod is being offered at USD 610 per ton EXW, while SAE 1008-1010 grades are available at USD 600 per ton EXW.
The revised offers are USD 22 per ton lower than the levels announced in early May.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, wire rods, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
