Vallourec has been awarded a major contract by Azule Energy to supply premium line pipes for the Greater PAJ offshore oil development in Angola.
Under the contract, Vallourec will supply more than 26,000 tons of seamless carbon steel line pipes, equivalent to approximately 210 km of pipeline, including advanced heavy thermal insulation coating. Deliveries are scheduled between July and December 2027.
The pipes will be used for production, service, water injection and gas export lines supporting the Greater PAJ development, one of the largest deepwater projects currently under development offshore Angola.
Located around 200 km off the Angolan coast in water depths of 1,500-2,000 meters, the project comprises the Palas, Astraea, Juno, Dione and Urano offshore fields.
Vallourec said the project will incorporate one of the thickest thermal insulation systems ever used in the subsea industry, with insulation reaching up to 120 mm of Glass Syntactic Polypropylene (GSPP), designed to maintain flow assurance under ultra-deepwater operating conditions.
Azule Energy is a joint venture between Eni and BP and is developing the Greater PAJ project as part of its offshore expansion in Angola.
Vallourec is a global producer of premium seamless tubular solutions for the energy industry, supplying oil and gas, power generation and industrial projects in more than 20 countries.
