Tenaris opens service center in Paramaribo for GranMorgu offshore project

Tenaris has commenced operations at its new service center in Paramaribo, Suriname, to support the GranMorgu offshore oil development, the country’s first major offshore project operated by TotalEnergies in partnership with APA Corporation and Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V.

The new facility will provide integrated logistics and technical services under Tenaris’ Rig Direct model, supporting the supply of casing, tubing and related services while improving supply chain coordination and material availability for offshore drilling operations.

The service center covers 74,500 square meters and has a storage capacity of 15,000 tons. It includes a logistics yard and an inspection line where pipes are prepared and inspected before delivery to offshore wells. The facility also incorporates PipeTracer, Tenaris’ pipe-by-pipe traceability system, and the Rig Direct Portal, a digital platform for order management, shipment tracking and documentation.

According to TotalEnergies, drilling activities for the GranMorgu project are scheduled to begin this year, with the opening of the Tenaris service center marking an important step in the project’s execution phase.

Tenaris said the investment also supports the long-term development of Suriname’s offshore industry through local employment, supplier development and knowledge transfer.

Tenaris is a global manufacturer of seamless and welded steel pipe products for the energy industry. The company operates an integrated industrial network with manufacturing facilities in North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, supplying OCTG, line pipe and premium tubular solutions to oil and gas producers worldwide.
