Turkey’s HRC imports declined 9.5pct YoY to 1.43 mln tons during the first five months of 2026, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Russia remained Turkey’s largest HRC supplier during the January-May period with 298,600 tons, followed by China with 283,000 tons and Malaysia with 265,500 tons.
In May alone, Turkey imported 291,300 tons of HRC, down 43pct from the same month last year and 13pct lower than the previous month.
