UAE’s CIM Steel Industry LLC has completed the first commercial dispatch of cold rolled full hard (CRFH) coils from its new manufacturing facility in Umm Al Quwain, marking another milestone in the commissioning of its integrated flat steel project.
The shipment follows the start-up of the company’s pickled coil and CRFH production announced last month, confirming the transition from commissioning to commercial operations.
CIM Steel operates a 500,000 ton per year cold rolling mill complex, forms part of a USD 120 mln integrated steel manufacturing project developed jointly with Rhino Steel Industry LLC and Metal Care Center Factory LLC in Umm Al Quwain Industrial City. The project spans approximately 1.4 mln square feet and has a combined annual production and processing capacity of nearly 1 mln tons.
Under the integrated project, CIM Steel operates the cold rolling mill, Rhino Steel Industry produces Aluzinc-coated steel through a continuous coating line, while Metal Care Center Factory operates a steel melt shop and long steel rolling mill.
