Al Yamamah Steel Industries has identified Italy’s Danieli as the supplier of billet production equipment for its planned billet manufacturing project, updating an earlier announcement that referred to the contractor only as a specialized European company.
The company said the amendment relates to the contract signed by its subsidiary, Al Yamamah Company for Reinforcing Steel Bars, covering the manufacturing, supply and installation of billet production equipment.
In its earlier filing, Al Yamamah Steel announced that its subsidiary had signed a SAR 270 mln (USD 72 mln) contract for billet production equipment as part of its strategy to strengthen upstream steelmaking operations.
Al Yamamah Steel specializes in the manufacturing and sale of a variety of products including welded tubes, sheets, rebars, and three-dimensional space structures, primarily serving the buildings and infrastructure sector. The company also produces galvanized steel lighting and distribution poles, high mast structures, and galvanized steel lattice towers for the electrical and distribution industry. Its production facilities are strategically located in Jeddah, Dammam, and Yanbu.
