The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) has maintained anti-dumping and countervailing measures on imports of corrosion-resistant flat-rolled steel from Turkey and Vietnam, concluding that removing the duties would likely result in continued or resumed injury to the domestic industry.
The ruling extends the trade measures, first imposed in November 2020, without amendment.
Under the decision, anti-dumping duties on Turkish exports remain at rates ranging from 0pct to 26.1pct, while countervailing (anti-subsidy) duties continue at 0.4pct to 3.6pct. Vietnamese corrosion-resistant steel products remain subject to anti-dumping duties ranging from 2.3pct to 71.1pct.
The measures apply to corrosion-resistant flat-rolled carbon steel products in coils and cut lengths, including certain alloyed grades, while excluding products such as pre-painted steel, stainless steel, tinplate, perforated steel, galvanized armouring tape, automotive-grade steel, aerospace steel and tool steel.
