Spanish valve manufacturer Ampo Poyam Valves has secured a contract to supply 180 large-sized engineered gate valves for Saudi Aramco’s Riyas NGL Fractionation Trains project in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
The order includes 148 cryogenic service gate valves designed for low-temperature applications. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the project has been awarded to Spanish engineering company Tecnicas Reunidas.
The Riyas NGL Fractionation Trains project forms part of the second phase of the Jafurah unconventional gas field development. The facility will comprise two natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation trains, each with a processing capacity of 255,000 barrels per day, producing ethane, propane, butane and pentane.
According to the company, Ampo will supply valves in sizes of up to 68 inches for general service applications and up to 64 inches, Class 600, for cryogenic service, making it one of the largest and most technically demanding valve packages undertaken by the company.
