AMTPJ expands steel bar supply network

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Al-Jubail (AMTPJ) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China’s Chengde Jianlong Special Steel, establishing a framework for future cooperation after qualifying the company as a preferred supplier for selected steel bar grades.

The agreement is aimed at strengthening AMTPJ’s supply chain by expanding its qualified supplier base, improving supply flexibility and enhancing security of supply for raw materials.

AMTPJ said the partnership supports its strategy to build a more resilient supply network by combining local manufacturing with diversified global sourcing, while contributing to Saudi Arabia’s industrial localization objectives under Vision 2030.

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Al-Jubail acquired JESCO in 2021 alongside Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. JESCO has 400,000 tons per year of seamless tube capacity, bringing the group’s combined seamless tube capacity to around 1 mln tons per year.
