Turkey imported 9.7 mln tons of ferrous scrap in the first half of 2026, up 3.2pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The United States remained Turkey’s largest scrap supplier during January-June, with shipments totaling 1.77 mln tons. The Netherlands ranked second with 1.2 mln tons, followed by the United Kingdom with 1.1 mln tons.
In June alone, Turkey imported 1.59 mln tons of ferrous scrap, up 32.5pct YoY and 6.7pct from the previous month.
