JSW Steel’s consolidated crude steel production increased 3pct YoY to 2.402 mln tons in July 2026 from 2.327 mln tons a year earlier, according to the company’s latest production update.
Indian operations produced 2.339 mln tons, up 4pct YoY from 2.255 mln tons. Production at JSW Steel USA – Ohio declined 13pct YoY to 63,000 tons from 72,000 tons.
Capacity utilization across JSW Steel’s Indian operations stood at 87pct during the month. The company said Blast Furnace No. 3 (BF3) at its Vijayanagar plant, which restarted on June 23 following a planned shutdown for capacity expansion, was operating at more than 80pct of rated capacity.
The July production comparison has been adjusted following the transfer of the steel business undertaking of Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd. (BPSL) to JSW-JFE Steel Ltd. in March 2026. Production from the transferred business has therefore been excluded from the corresponding previous-year figures.
JSW Steel’s combined crude steel production capacity currently stands at 37.9 mln tons per year, including 4.5 mln tons through its JSW-JFE Steel joint venture. The company plans to increase total capacity to 54.8 mln tons per year over the next four years.
