Greece’s Corinth Pipeworks has secured the line pipe supply package for the Rovuma LNG Phase 1 project in Mozambique, with the contract valued at USD 200-250 mln.
The company will manufacture around 250 km or 120,000 tons of LSAW linepipe in 20-24 inch diameters for the project’s offshore pipeline network. The scope also includes anti-corrosion and concrete weight coating, with production taking place at Corinth Pipeworks’ facilities in Thisvi, Greece.
The project is being developed by the Area 4 partners led by ExxonMobil as delegated operator. The linepipe will be designed for the demanding operating conditions associated with deepwater gas infrastructure.
Corinth Pipeworks, a division of Cenergy Holdings, operates a facility in Thisvi, Greece, with an annual production capacity of 1 mln tons of steel pipes for energy and construction markets. Earlier this year, the company expanded its operations by acquiring an LSAW pipe mill in Hartlepool, UK, adding a further 250,000 tons of annual capacity.
