Galva Hub to commission Emirates’ largest galvanizing kettle

UAE’s Galva Hub Metal Coating has received 825 tons of zinc at its facility in Metal Park, within Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), paving the way for commissioning of the UAE’s largest hot-dip galvanizing kettle.

Commissioning is expected to continue through August, with production slots available from September, the company said.

The facility will have capacity to galvanize up to 150,000 tons of steel annually and hold 610 tons of molten zinc. Its 16.2-m-long kettle is designed to process large structures including beams, columns, transmission and lighting poles, bridges, telecommunications towers and port infrastructure.

The kettle’s double-dipping capability will allow structures up to 5.5 m in size to be galvanized, reducing the need to cut large structures into sections or send them outside Abu Dhabi for processing.

The plant will use lead-free zinc, zinc recycling, fume treatment and heat-recovery systems, with the latter expected to reduce fuel consumption by up to 30pct.

The facility is located within Metal Park, a 5 mln sq ft industrial hub focused on metals manufacturing, processing, logistics and related services. Its local processing capability is expected to reduce transport and handling requirements for fabricators operating in the hub.

Metal Park operates as an integrated metals ecosystem offering storage, processing, and fabrication facilities under a pay-as-you-go model, with direct connectivity to Khalifa Port and Etihad Rail. Its storage hub, launched in 2025, provides on-demand warehousing solutions aimed at reducing logistics and inventory costs for manufacturers.
