Alleima to invest USD 20 mln in advanced tube capacity at Mehsana plant

Swedish specialty steelmaker Alleima plans to invest around USD 20 mln to expand production capacity and capabilities for advanced tubing products at its existing facility in Mehsana, India.

The investment will add local production of advanced tubes for the fertilizer industry and increase capacity for larger-dimension application tubing for the chemical and petrochemical sectors.

Alleima will also expand production of precision tubes used in compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems, as well as hydraulic and instrumentation applications. The additional capacity is expected to shorten customer lead times in the region and support selected export markets.

The new capacity is scheduled to become operational during 2028.

Alleima said the investment builds on an expansion completed at the Mehsana facility in 2023 and forms part of its strategy to expand its presence in India’s growing chemical, petrochemical and natural gas markets.

Headquartered in Sandviken, Sweden, Alleima is a global manufacturer of advanced stainless steels, special alloys and high-value-added products, including seamless steel tubes for the energy, chemical and aerospace industries.
