Indian stainless steel producer Jindal Stainless has signed a technical assistance agreement with Japan’s JFE Steel Corporation to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities for selected ferritic stainless steel grades.
Under the agreement, JFE Steel will support Jindal Stainless in enhancing product quality and manufacturing practices for the specified grades. The companies will focus on strengthening production processes and operational practices.
Ferritic stainless steel is used in automotive components, railway coaches, kitchen equipment, industrial machinery, construction and other value-added applications.
Jindal Stainless said the cooperation with JFE Steel’s expertise in ferritic stainless steel manufacturing is expected to strengthen product quality and operational excellence while enhancing capabilities across its people, processes and manufacturing practices.
Jindal Stainless, India’s largest stainless steel producer, has an annual melt capacity of 4.2 mln tons. The company operates 16 manufacturing and processing facilities across India, Spain, and Indonesia, along with a global network spanning 12 countries. Its product portfolio includes slabs, coils, plates, sheets, precision strips, blade steel, and coin blanks.
