Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has raised its rebar and wire rod prices in its latest price list.
The company is offering 12-32 mm rebar at TRY 29,750 (USD 614) per ton EXW, excluding VAT, up from TRY 28,625 per ton (USD 595 per ton) in its previous price list issued in late August.
Market sources said Kardemir sold more than 30,000 tons of rebar within a short period and subsequently closed sales.
Kardemir has also opened wire rod sales. The company is offering 5.5 mm SAE 1006 wire rod at USD 645 per ton EXW and SAE 1008-1010 grades at USD 635 per ton, both USD 25 per ton higher than the prices announced on August 20. Prices for 6-27 mm wire rod are USD 10 per ton below the base price for 5.5 mm grades.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir has annual production capacity of around 3.5 mln tons, producing billets, blooms, rebar, wire rod and profiles at its facilities in Karabuk.
