Tosyali Algerie has made its first export shipment of cold-rolled steel from its new cold rolling complex in Bethioua, Oran, marking the start of international sales from the facility.
The company said the first export represents an important milestone in expanding its production of high value-added steel products and strengthening its presence in global markets.
The shipment follows the commissioning of the complex’s Pickling and Tandem Cold Mill (PLTCM) line, which produced its first cold-rolled steel coil in July. The facility is part of Tosyali Algerie’s broader flat steel investment programme aimed at increasing domestic value addition and expanding its product portfolio.
Tosyali Algerie expects its export revenues to reach USD 2-2.5 bln in 2026, compared with USD 1.2 bln in 2025, according to local media reports.
The Bethioua complex benefits from its proximity to the port of Arzew, supporting exports of finished and value-added steel products to international markets.
Tosyali Algerie’s flat steel complex includes a DRI plant, EAF, hot and cold rolling mills, and a galvanizing mill. Tosyali also produces rebar and wire rod with an annual capacity of 3.8 mln tons and operates a 400,000 tons per year helical submerged arc welding pipe mill in Algeria.
Tosyali Algerie is Africa’s largest integrated iron and steel complex, producing more than 6 mln tons of liquid steel annually. Its integrated operations include DRI, billet, rebar, wire rod and pipe production lines. The company has recently commissioned hot-rolled and cold-rolled flat steel facilities and is completing downstream galvanizing and automotive-grade steel processing units under its Phase 4 expansion, which is expected to raise total steelmaking capacity to 9.5 mln tons per year.
