The UAE structural steel market remains firm, supported by steady domestic demand, but logistics disruptions continue to complicate imported supply and deliveries.
Chinese JIS beams are currently indicated at around USD 600-610 per ton CFR UAE, while Chinese channels are heard at around USD 595-605 per ton CFR UAE for standard sizes. Chinese UPN and UPE sections are also around USD 595-605 per ton CFR UAE, depending on specification.
Chinese IPE/IPEAA sections are indicated at around USD 640-650 per ton CFR UAE, while smaller sizes are available at higher levels.
European UB/UC beams are currently offered at around USD 1,100-1,110 per ton CFR Jebel Ali.
Local stockists said demand is currently good, although congestion at UAE ports is causing delivery delays and some stockists are running short of material. Some are relying more on locally or regionally available material to cover immediate requirements, while others are maintaining regular supply relationships rather than actively seeking new sources. Some stockists are also increasingly preferring cash payment over credit sales or avoiding extended credit terms.
MESTEEL’s latest UAE benchmark for beams stands at USD 750-760 per ton EXW.
Local UAE stockists’ indications for angles are around USD 740-750 per ton EXW for smaller sizes and USD 870-880 per ton EXW for larger sizes, excluding VAT. UPN sections are indicated at around USD 900-930 per ton EXW, depending on size.
