Turkish steel producer Kardemir has announced new prices for rebar, according to its latest price list. The company is now offering rebar in sizes ranging from 12 to 32 mm at TRY 19,455 (USD 590) per ton, up from the previous price of TRY 19,250 (USD 593) per ton reported in the first week of June, when the exchange rate was TRY 32.4 against USD. However, in USD terms, prices decreased by USD 3 per ton due to currency volatility.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company’s product portfolio includes blooms, billets, rebars, profiles, and various other steel products, with manufacturing facilities strategically located in Karabuk.
