Shyam Metalics reports significant surge in stainless steel output for June 2024

India’s Shyam Metalics and Energy announced a significant increase in its stainless steel production, which surged 100.69pct YoY to 7,015 tons in June 2024, compared to 3,496 tons in June 2023.

However, the production of carbon steel, including billet and long steel products, fell by 1.06pct YoY to 120,803 tons.

Specialty alloys production rose to 15,216 tons, marking a 7.11pct increase YoY in June 2024. Sponge iron production also saw a substantial rise, soaring to 89,261 tons in June 2024 from 40,599 tons in June 2023.

Pellet production increased by 6.95pct YoY to 87,251 tons. In contrast, the production of aluminum foil fell by 6.29pct YoY to 1,176 tons.

Headquartered in Kolkata, Shyam Metalics has a diversified product portfolio that includes pellets, sponge iron, billets, ferro-alloys, and finished steel products such as rebars, wire rods, and structural steel products.
