JSW Steel sees 1pct production dip in Q1 FY25 YoY

JSW Steel reported a 1pct YoY decrease in consolidated crude steel production for the first quarter of FY25, reaching 2.09 mln tons, according to a stock exchange filing.

The company attributed this decline, which also represents a 6pct drop compared to the previous quarter, to planned maintenance shutdowns. Capacity utilization at the company’s Indian operations stood at 87pct.

Meanwhile, JSW Steel USA-Ohio recorded nearly stable production, reaching 23,000 tons in Q1 FY25.

JSW Steel, a major player in the integrated steel industry, has a total capacity of 29.7 mln tons per annum in India and the USA. The company aims for further expansion, targeting a total capacity of 38.5 mln tons per annum in India by FY25 as part of its next growth phase.
