Canada has extended the preliminary phase of its antidumping duty investigation into rebar imports from the United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, and Thailand.
Originally expected to conclude by May 3, the investigation now has a deadline of September 13, 2024, due to complexities and difficulties in obtaining evidence, according to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
The investigation, initiated on May 3, 2024, follows a petition from ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, Gerdau Ameristeel Corp., and AltaSteel, with support from Max Aicher (North America) Ltd. and Ivaco Rolling Mills.
